How we verify ollama facts

Herd Latch verifies install facts for the local model runner against public sources on each review date. Winget ids must resolve in microsoft/winget-pkgs. Homebrew cask tokens must resolve on formulae.brew.sh. Releases assets must appear on ollama/ollama tags.

For large Windows installers such as OllamaSetup.exe, editorial checks may use HTTP HEAD and GitHub API metadata instead of downloading the full body to the writer disk. Size and availability still get recorded.

Prerelease tags are skipped for golden-image guidance unless a page explicitly documents a test channel. Package commands that cannot be verified are labelled honestly.

We do not invent stars, hashes, or prices. Model licences are separate from the MIT runner licence and must be read upstream.

Corrections welcome through the contact page when a door changes. Pillar: ollama.

Lab owners who only need package doors can stay on the home install panel. Readers who want editorial method can stay on this page. Neither page hosts binaries; both point at upstream Releases and package registries.

When a door changes upstream, we update the verification notes on the next review date. Until then, match filenames on GitHub Releases before you trust a third-party mirror.
